Q A with zazi
Why maps like that?
Most of the time the maps represent a new lesson, something small, step by step I go further into mapping but taking it slow. One day I studied how to make breakable windows, then doors, I like to take it slow and keep producing large amounts of small maps.
My goal is to make maps that I never saw in ET before, like largest mazes, under-water knife maps, maps dedicated to flamer fights and all kind of 1vs1 type of small maps.
I don't care does anyone play them or not, I have a great time making them anyways.

Help I can't see the mirror?
R_Fastsky... this command confused me a lot too, disables sky and mirrors won't work either.

Help I the candles look weird?
I don't know the problem behind this but when I was testing the maps with different ET installs then in one they didn't work properly (missing flame) I changed the entire config and it was fixed. Something in the config.

Your maze looks weird, some walls are missing but can't go through!
The mazes were my first maps and the zmaze was the first. I had no idea that 2 brushes in same place cause that. The zmaze is functional and you can find the end anyways.

In the first frag maze maps one team spawns facing the wrong wall!
Again it's too late to fix this. Few maps from the time of creating the zmaze have this problem, most are fine.

Help black/yellow boxes on your lights.
I am using the default graphics or custom graphics for just textures. The lights I'm using are default and I'm not changing them at all, if you see black-yellow boxes means there is problem with the pk3 files in your etmain.

In your videos there are missing compass (black-yellow)
The videos when I make them are when map is 99%. I later put a random picture from the map as the map loading and command map picture. There are often bugs you see in the video but I fix most that I find quickly. In the final pk3 everything should be good.

What do they hx,xh,zi,za,zazi,z stand for?
To make sure that my map names are unique and not taken by anyone I gave them names like hx_frag zi.. and so on. Generally z_ series are maps of challenge for 1 player, z_pyramid z_icemaze zmaze. xh the quick series of nonsense made very quickly. Hx the more serious maps that I started with. This is not 100% accurate, sometimes one with name xh might not be such a quick map at all. Zi & za are simply from zazi.

How long do the maps take you to build?
When we talk about maps like zmaze and z_icemaze then the first took 4 days and the second just 2 full days. Most other 2-4 hours, some more than 4 hours and a lot of them less than 2 hours. A few useless maps like kpmap less than 10 minutes. I like the average 3 hour maps, simple and fun for fragging.

Why don't you make a big objective map?
I will, some day. The reason why not is simple, I want to know everything, every small detail about the map making before I take such a goal.

Help a bigger map of yours is not loading, I am getting hunk_alloc error.
You need com_hunkmegs 128, you probably got less than 128 like 56 and the map is not loading because it needs more. Set it 128 and try again.
